Provision of geophysical studies of seabed for underwater electrical interconnection project between Spain and France across Cap Breton Canyon in the Bay of Biscay

The contract undertakes the geophysical studies -high resolution bathymetry MBES with grid cell size not greater than 2 x 2 m in deeper water and max 1 x 1 m in shalloow water plus high resolution sub bottom profiler (SBP) by means of Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV)- of Cap Breton Canyon only. These studies are necessary to validate the feasibility of the project and namely of the canyon crossing.

The planned track through Cap Breton Canyon at two selected alternative areas, according to the method statements proposed by selected Tenderer. The scope of the works include the geophysical surveys in 2 corridors: one at about 300 m water depth and another at approximately 1 400 m w.d. and the areas to cover are respectively 4 x 4 km and 20 x 10 km. The above figures are susceptible of decreasing or increasing according to the results to be analyzed on site by on-line data processing. The final target is to assess the cable routing feasibility at selected crossing areas.

Habilitación para el ejercicio de la actividad profesional:

— A copy of the Candidate's insurance certificates stating the activities covered, the sums covered and the period of validity, as well as a certificate proving payment of the premiums (civil liability, ten-year guarantees and additional guarantees, etc.) covering the candidate's professional risks with respect to the contract that is the object of this call for tender.

— A copy of criminal extract of record of the responsible director.

— A certificate which proves that the company is not in suspension of payment or bankruptcy.

Situación económica y financiera:

— A copy of the balance sheets and profit and loss accounts, with their appendices, for the last 3 financial years.

— The candidate must justify annual Net sales higher than 5,000,000 EUR.

— A copy of the annual report for the last 3 financial years.

— If the candidate is in a situation of judicial settlement, a copy of the corresponding ruling or rulings.

— A document certifying the regularity of the social security situation of the co-contractor in reference to the regulation (EEC) no. 1408/71 of 14.6.1971 or an international social security agreement, or, if not, a certificate of supply of social security declarations issued by the social protection agencies responsible for recovery of social.

Capacidad técnica y profesional:

— Must be able to manage and perform a geophysical survey offshore combining the surface and ROV spreads for the maximum accuracy.

— Must be able to perform studies of seabed at great depth with high resolution in uneven and critical morphology as the one encountered in active canyons.

— Must be able to produce the preliminary results in the field, i.e.: on board the vessel and to assess the cable routing feasibility across the canyon.

— Must be able to carry out surveys at sea in a short time (before winter 2013).

— Must be capable of providing the geophysical survey in accordance with the industry standards of the High Voltage Power cable installation requirements.

— Will be able to write all reports and documents of these studies in English on time.
