Dairy farm survey: contracting and unfair trading practices in the food supply chain

This contract has the objective of carrying out a survey among dairy farmers to obtain data allowing JRC-IPTS to perform quantitative analysis on the effects of contracting and unfair trading practices UTPs on farm performance. The overall objectives of the contract are:
To collect raw data:
1. on the production information and structure of dairy farmers;
2. on characteristics of and contract details with the main dairy purchaser;
3. on contractual relations with the main milk purchaser that allows to measure UTPs;
4. about the structure of the market allowing measurement of bargaining power in the food chain;
5. on dairy farmers' cooperation.
To collect basic information about the dairy processing industry collected from secondary sources.
