The European Joint Undertaking for ITER and the development of Fusion Energy (‘Fusion for Energy’)
This contract concerns the supply of corrugated wave-guide mock-ups for the Electron Cyclotron Launcher. The key objective of this R and D task is to machine the internal corrugations of the wave-guide mock-ups according to the target specifications from ITER. Preparatory activities, such as procurement of raw material, machining and drilling, are within the scope of this contract.

For information purposes, it should be noted that if this R and D activity is technically successful it might be followed by the launch of a contract for the production and formal qualification (nuclear, vacuum, mechanical) of the wave-guide prototypes. Then, a contract for the series production estimated in approximately 1km of wave-guides items (of various sections and geometries) will be launched with the qualified supplier for the prototype.
It should be noted that the present procurement procedure is governed by the rules laid down in the Financial Regulation of Fusion for Energy adopted by the Decision of the Governing Board of 22.10.2007 as last amended on 18.12.2007 and the Implementing Rules of the Financial Regulation adopted by the Decision of the Governing Board of 22.10.2007 as last amended on 8.7.2008 and 10.6.2010.
