Supply of mineral insulated (MI) terminated cables

The European Joint Undertaking for ITER and the development of Fusion Energy (‘Fusion for Energy’)

This contract is for the supply of mineral insulated (MI) terminated cabling needed by Fusion for Energy to perform a testing programme with respect to the ITER environment. The required supply includes 3 twin core terminated cables and 3 quad core terminated cables (each with a length of 10 metres). 5 separate and mutually exclusive lots are expected to be awarded to 5 separate tenderers. Please note that Fusion for Energy also plans to launch a future procurement procedure (ref. F4E-OPE-0762) for supply of cabling for actual installation in ITER. The launch of this procedure is currently planned for June/July 2017. In this regard, economic operators that may be interested in submitting an offer for this future procedure are also strongly encouraged to participate in the current procedure, i.e. results of extensive testing to be executed by Fusion for Energy on terminated cables to be supplied by several manufacturers under F4E-OPE-0746 are expected to be useful with respect to demonstrating the technical capacity that will be needed to participate in the future procedure (ref. F4E-OPE-0762).
