— field equipment including sensor systems, hydraulic and electromechanical actuators, viewing systems, optical systems, metrology systems, cabling and connectors, control systems etc,
— feasibility, reliability, availability, remote maintenance, decontamination, inspectability, operability and safety assessment,
— verification of protection important components (definition of PIC related verification activities are in [AD-02] of Annex A to the Framework Contract),
— evaluation of requirements management and verification activities.
B. Review or production of technical documentation for remote handling systems and components including but not limited to the following:
— CAD models, drawings and schematics, technical specifications, safety evaluations, manufacturing sheets, calculations, analysis reports (operational, risk, integrated logistics or safety and hazard analysis), finite element analyses etc,
— review meetings,
— on-site inspections at the ITER site or supplier premises.
C. Execution of support activities including but not limited to the following:
— studies related to design, manufacturing or assembly of remote handling equipment (as described in point a above) and their respective rescue systems, complemented by tests on procured mock-ups and/or components,
— studies, development, integration and validation of software and hardware components of the remote handling control system,
— assessment/qualification within the nuclear engineering field of radiation tolerance of components, materials and systems related to confinement of, and shielding from radioactive sources.
