The Service Management Infrastructure (SMI) will consist of a platform enabling a fully operational workflow that will connect the European External Action Service (EEAS) structure, the Service Coordinator (the SatCen), the Geospatial Production Contractor and the end-users of the Copernicus Service in Support to EU External Action -SEA- (EEAS, European Commission, EU Member States, etc.).
This platform aims at supporting the management of the SEA Service on a daily basis by monitoring and managing daily tasks and processes at both operational (cartographic production) and administrative level.
The system will be composed by the following set of integrated components:
— Workflow Management,
— Data Storage,
— Document Management,
— Dashboard,
— Business Intelligence,
— Task Management.
The platform must be designed to be deployed in two different types of networks, i.e. classified and unclassified, and ensure a data transfer between both according to the security rules in place.
In the development of the SMI, licenses and software products currently available at SatCen, such as ESRI ArcGIS products (e.g. ArcGIS Workflow Manager and ArcGIS Enterprise) and Microsoft software (e.g. SQL Server, Power BI and SharePoint), should be considered to the largest possible extent.
