Engineering support in the area of remote handling
The framework contract will cover the provision of engineering support in the field of remote handling, including engineering of mechanical, electrical, electronics and control systems linked with remote handling systems and components. The framework contract will be implemented through specific task orders for self-standing activities which will be placed over the duration of the framework contract. These activities include:
a) industrial evaluation of remote handling concepts and solutions, including feasibility, reliability, availability, remote maintenance, decontamination, inspectability, operability and safety assessments;
b) review or production of technical documentation for remote handling systems and components (including but not limited to): drawings, CAD models, technical specifications, safety evaluations, manufacturing sheets, analysis reports (operational, risk, integrated logistics or safety and hazard analysis);
c) where required, the provision of support activities like:
— design and/or manufacturing and/or assembly studies of remote handling equipment and their respective rescue systems,
— assessment within the field of nuclear engineering regarding radiation tolerance of components, materials and systems related to confinement of and shielding from radioactive sources.
